The Vestis Story

Adorn

From the Latin “vestis,” meaning garment or adornment.

We believe jewellery should be more than decoration.

Each piece is designed to be personally connected to you. An heirloom piece.

Lead

From the Lithuanian “vestis,” meaning to lead or to carry oneself.

Vestis Studios is about movement and growth.

To lead yourself through life with purpose.

Preserve

Echoing the English “vestige,” meaning a trace of what once was.

Our creations honour the past.

We preserve fragments of history to be carried forward through modern design.

Vestis Studios started from a simple idea — that what we wear should mean something. I’ve always been drawn to history, fossils, and the feeling that some things are meant to last. When I began making jewellery, it wasn’t just about design — it was about finding a way to carry fragments of time into the present.

The name Vestis comes from a mix of languages that feel close to me. In Latin, it means garment or adornment — something you wear to express who you are. In Lithuanian — my wife’s language — vesti means to lead or to carry oneself. And it also sounds a little like vestige — a trace of what came before. Together, it felt right. It’s about wearing something that connects you to where you’ve been, and where you’re going.

That’s really what this brand is for me — a mix of history, craftsmanship, and a bit of soul. Jewellery made to last, to hold meaning, and to be worn by people who care about the story behind it.

What started as a small Etsy shop — just me at a desk making fossil rings — has grown far beyond what I imagined. Hundreds of people around the world now wear pieces I’ve made by hand, using my rings to propose with, to gift with, and to treasure forever. It still feels surreal.

Vestis Studios is the next step — a space to bring everything together: the fossil jewellery that started it all, the new minimalist designs I’ve been developing, and eventually a full collection made from the ground up. It’s still just me behind it all — learning, creating, and building something I hope will last for years to come.

Thank you for being part of it.
